We have two APIs in which chassis and engine number are masked in RC Lite whereas it is in an unmasked form in RC advance. The reason being for both API sources are different and data points are different.
Current vehicle Insurance details are extracted via RC Advance API. The data points fetched here are:
Name of the Insurance Company
The RC API helps to fetch the mechanical details about the vehicle. Like – model, make, sleeping, standing, and seating capacity. It will also give you information regarding permit, insurance and PUC.
With respect to PUC date, insurance date you can understand the status. However, the condition of the vehicle is a subjective and cosmetic aspect. This detail is not available along with the RC data.
To track down if the vehicle is in usable condition or not we will need the accident history, servicing history. This information is limited to the vehicle car dealers/service center and insurance companies. The data is not provided in the RC response.
There is a lot of difference in the RC lite and Advance version. To start with, The Response fetched in RC advance has 45+ data points. To differentiate w.r.t data points, In advance API you get complete insurance, ownership, PUC details, engine and chassis number in unmasked form, make model and variant of the vehicle among others.
In the basic version the engine and chassis number are in masked form as well as details like insurance expiry and fitness expiry. The API has around 10+ compared to advanced 45+ data points. Due to this there also a difference in the pricing of the both the APIs
Rc advanced can fetch status like NOC and deregistered vehicle whereas RC Lite can also fetch additionally blacklist status of the vehicle.
No, We can not able to fetch any identity details from RC databases other than name address and father’s name as it is a public database and it don’t contain any such information.
